Iowa HPV Vaccination Project

The Iowa Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination Project is underway. The project’s main goal is to reduce the incidents of cervical cancer in Iowa through development and implementation of programs to provide the HPV vaccine to women, 19-26, who cannot afford it.  During the initial phase of this project, research was completed to gather data pertaining to this goal and the data was analyzed.  Funding is being sought, at the local, state, and national levels to support HPV-related programming across Iowa.  It is our hope that this project’s completion is one more step toward providing access to quality reproductive healthcare to all who want it in our state.

Iowa HPV Vaccination Project Media Advocacy Toolkit

Iowa HPV Vaccination Project research outcomes suggest that women in Iowa ages 19-26 have a mixed level of understanding about HPV and its connection to cervical cancer & genital warts. In order to address the gaps in knowledge identified in our research, the HPV Advisory Group has worked to create an Iowa HPV Vaccination Project Media Advocacy Toolkit.

The toolkit includes a step-by-step plan that will help you and your organization ease into the media world without trepidation. The main goal in this media outreach is to educate the community about HPV, cervical health, and the HPV vaccine. It is our hope that with increased understanding comes increased support. Make the most of this opportunity and get the word out about HPV-related disease & prevention.
