Dear Partners & Friends:

As you may already know, The Family Planning Council of Iowa’s long-time Executive Director, Jodi Tomlonovic, is retiring in September.  We are forever grateful to Jodi for her years of leadership and advocacy.  She has been integral in ensuring access to reproductive healthcare in Iowa. For more than 35 years, Jodi made invaluable contributions to our organization and to the field of reproductive rights. She is an impassioned and compelling advocate for accessible family planning services. We will miss Jodi but have no doubt she will continue to advocate for reproductive rights.

The FPCI Board is now accepting applicants for the executive director position, which we hope to fill by late Summer 2019.  The board has appointed a five-member hiring committee comprised of current board members to manage the process. With a commitment to recruit candidates that reflect underserved/marginalized communities, we will do our due diligence to find an individual that is committed to ensuring reproductive health and contraception remains accessible to all Iowans.  Fortunately, Jodi will remain in the position until a new executive director is selected and will have the opportunity to work with Jodi to allow a smooth transition.

Jodi leaves FPCI in excellent shape with a top-notch staff in place. She hired well, retained quality staff and delegated responsibly. It is because of this that the board of directors has complete confidence that the important work of the organization will continue without pause.

FPCI’s ambitious agenda will proceed with all of our trademark expertise and energy. I know you join with the board and staff in wishing Jodi well. You are an important partner in our work, and we look forward to continuing to work with you as we move into a new chapter at FPCI. Please share this opportunity widely.  If you have any questions, please email fpcihiringcommittee@gmail.com.
