Project Connect

Project Connect (part of Futures Without Violence) is a coordinated public health initiative to prevent violence against women. It was designed to find new ways to identify, respond to and prevent domestic and sexual violence, and promote an improved public health response to abuse.  Project Connect focused on helping health care providers to identify and address intimate partner violence (IPV) and reproductive coercion in the reproductive and adolescent clinical fields and to make enhancements to family planning, reproductive health, and STI prevention programs.  Iowa’s Project Connect developed education opportunities, policy and public health responses to domestic and sexual violence.

The following webinars can be used to train health care providers about intimate partner violence and the associated effects on reproductive and adolescent health.  These webinars are intended for staff members of Title X sub-recipients to introduce the concepts and importance of discussing intimate partner violence and using safety cards with all clients.
